124 mln PC gamers in the US

According to Yankee Group, there are more than 124 mln PC gamers in the United States, 58% of whom play various types of online games. Among PC gamers, approximately 69 mln play CD ROM-based PC games and of these, nearly 14 mln play online. Overall, males dominate CD ROM-based PC games, constituting 66% of the overall market and 81% of those who play online. On average, CD-ROM-based PC gamers are 32 years old. About 62 mln PC gamers play casual Internet games, with women constituting 50% of this segment. On average, casual Internet gamers are 36 years old.
