17% mln Americans visited online pharmacies, 61% did not tell their doctors about it

More than 17 mln online Americans visited online pharmacy sites in Q4 2004, according to comScore Networks. 45% of those who visited pharmacy sites said they did so to comparison shop. 61% of buyers hadn't informed their regular doctor about online purchases. 66% agreed with the statement that online pharmacies are providing healthy competition to regular pharmacies. 54% agreed that they were very concerned about the safety of drugs available online.
