Well, well. 180solutions has filed a lawsuit against Zone Labs, maker of popular Zone Alarm firewall and anti-spyware. 180solutions' complaint states that Zone Labs "creates the misimpression that 180's products are spyware", Zone Labs identifies both Zango and 180Search assistant as potential threats to privacy and security, classifies both as "high risk" and reports that both are "trying to monitor your mouse movements and keyboard strokes".  Some of the verbiage in the complaint sounds very similar to 180 CEO Keith Smith's missive at MediaPost yesterday.

As one of my anti-spyware zealot colleagues mentioned, what happens if the court rules that 180's apps are indeed spyware?

The actual complaint can be downloaded here (PDF) with thanks to Alex at SunbeltBLOG.
