2.77 mln fiber-to-the-home subscribers in Japan

Research and Markets published the findings on Japanese broadband market: 13.67 mln accounts for DSL, 2.77 mln for FTTH, 2.96 mln for CATV Internet, and 30 thousands for FWA. Subscription to broadband access services in Japanese domestic market is forecasted to be at 22.75 mln at the end of 2005 and 38.25 mlns at the end of 2010. Net monthly increase of DSL subscription and FTTH subscription are expected to be reversed in the beginning of 2005. Total DSL subscription is forecasted to peak in the beginning of 2006 and then to decrease gradually to the level of approx. 14.31 mlns at the end of 2006.
