3M's new multi-touch screens: 10 simultaneous touch events in 6 milliseconds

3M on Wednesday previewed a set of multi-touch screens that promise more accurate and faster response times.

3M's latest addition to its PCT line of industrial touch screens can register 10 simultaneous touch events with a 6-millisecond response time.

The screens are designed to provide immersive user experience across a wide range of applications in verticals ranging from gaming to healthcare to retail point of sale and other self-service kiosks.

According to 3M, its 23-inch industrial design display can rotate from landscape to portrait mode and be adjusted at various angles. The screens are designed to be integrated into larger systems by integrators and manufacturers.

There's also a 32-inch screen.

3M made the announcement from the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
