$409 mln of blade servers sold in Q1 2005

The server blade market showed continued growth in Q1 2005, with shipments increasing by 68.2% YTY and factory revenue gaining 106% YTY. Overall, bladed servers accounted for $409 mln in the Q1 2005, representing 3.4% of server market revenue for the quarter. IBM maintained the #1 spot in the server blade market, with 39.2% market share, while HP maintained the #2 position with 35.2% share. Dell was able to increase its share of the blade market to 9.4% in Q1 2005, IDC says.
