Nielsen//NetRatings found that 53% of the individuals who frequented the educational reference category of sites were college-educated adults aged 35+ in September 2005. Overall, adults 35-49 led the age groups in usage, garnering 37% of category's audience, compared to 16% of Web users under age 18.

Grammar school students comprised more than 11% of the audience, as high school-educated students comprised nearly 19%.
