69% of online shopping happens from broadband connection

Nielsen/NetRatings found that 69% of retail purchases in November 2004 made online were conducted via a high-speed connection, compared to 31% over dial-up, or narrowband, connections. Broadband consumers spent on average $158.21 per person, which was 34% more than the $117.89 average for narrowband users. 26% of broadband shoppers end up actually making a purchase, compared with 21% for dial-up shoppers. Among all the Americans using the web today, 55% utilize high-speed connections.
