72% of billion-dollar companies plan to increase Linux spending

A recent Forrester survey of 140 large North American companies indicated that 53% run mission-critical applications under Linux and 52% choose Linux for new applications. As noted in a Computer Associates white paper, 72% of executives responsible for IT budgets in corporations with revenues of $1 bln or more plan to boost Linux investments in the coming year.

Gartner/DataQuest and EE Times Asia conducted a survey that found Asian developers of embedded applications choose Linux more frequently than all other operating systems.
