A customer service representative of film and television streaming provider Netflix took a creative approach to helping a customer having issues with the subscription service. Scripted customer service interactions may provide consistency for a customer, but on the other hand, they can also drive them mad.
Sometimes, consumers like to be reminded they are talking to a human rather than an automaton. Although this approach may not work with every customer -- some of whom may believe the employee is taking things too lightly or is unprofessional -- injecting some humor at the right moments can stop callers from becoming frustrated and angry.
