A Year Ago: Clinton Internet adviser to step down

Ira Magaziner, who has served as President Clinton's senior policy advisor on Internet issues for the past six years, has informed White House officials he will resign shortly, a spokesman for Magaziner said today.
The departure of Magaziner, who spearheaded the Clinton administration's efforts on e-commerce, privatisation of the domain name registration system and online privacy, leaves questions about who will succeed him.
