A Year Ago: Fuji Bank insults and infects investors

Japanese financial giant, Fuji Bank, shot itself square in the foot Thursday when it sent a rude computer virus to a number of key investors as part of horrendously failed public relations initiative.
Dozens of high-profile global investment partners were sent the virus within an email concerning a forthcoming merger with two other banks, Industrial Bank of Japan and Dai-Ich Kangyo Bank.
The virus periodically displays the less than friendly message, "You are a big stupid jerk" on the recipient's computer and curiously also changes a number of names in the address book to "Mr Diet Mountain Dew".
