Consumers have three sizing options to choose from (20-inch, 21.5-inch and 23-inch), and each Acer S1 model features white LED backlighting, which doesn't have any "hazardous substances such as mercury or halogen gases," and they use 68% less power.
Each display shows 16.7 million colors and has a sharp 12,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 16:9 aspect ratio, 5ms response times, 250 cd/m2 brightness and connectivity via VGA and DVI. But only the 21.5-inch and 23-inch editions deliver 1,920 x 1,080 resolutions, and the latter also hosts an HDMI port.
Acer says that all three S1 monitors will be available "this month," so that should mean by the end of this week. The displays will retail for $169.99, $219.99 and $269.99 for S201HL, S211HL and S231HL respectively.
