ADI to build £10.5m UK monitor factory

Taiwanese monitor maker ADI has announced that it will build a manufacturing plant in the UK, costing a total £10.5 million and creating 600 jobs.

The factory will concentrate on the production of 15 inch and 17 inch monitors although ADI is not ruling out the possibility of making14 inch screens for both ADI and its OEM market.

The UK announcement follows the launch of a similar factory in Mexico and completes, what ADI president Steven Liu referred to as "ADI's manufacturing and logistics world expansion plans."

The plant will be built in the Nelson Industrial Park in Cramlington, Northumberland and work is due to start in June next year.
