That Creative Suite 3 product cycle is treating Adobe pretty well these days.

Adobe on Monday reported net income of $205.2 million, or 34 cents a share, on record revenue of $851.7 million for its fiscal third quarter. Excluding certain items Adobe had earnings of 45 cents a share, which handily topped Thomson Financial estimates of 40 cents a share.

In the third quarter a year ago, Adobe (all resources) reported net income of 16 cents a share on revenue of $602.2 million.

Adobe said its results were "driven by outstanding Creative Suite 3 adoption and continued Acrobat momentum." Meanwhile, the company sees the good times rolling. Adobe projected fourth quarter revenue of $860 million to $890 million with earnings of 35 cents a share to 37 cents a share. Excluding items, Adobe projected earnings of 46 cents a share to 48 cents a share. Wall Street was expecting earnings of 44 cents a share on revenue of $843 million.
