You may have heard about this Flex 2 application from Intelisea, but it's one of the cooler Flex applications I've seen. The Intelisea team built a Flex 2 front end for controlling the functions on a yacht. It includes things like lights, Engines, flood control, and security.

Intelisea allows the crew to monitor the yacht as well as make changes. Phil showed us engine and electrical monitoring tools. The application includes an interface that shows how much fuel the ship has in various tanks in the ship. You can control pumps throughout the vessel so that you can control flooding. The security system shows when a door has been opened, which zones are armed and a map of the ship so you can quickly detect where the problem might be. Light control is kind of cool is because you can turn lights on or off as well as detecting when a bulb is out.

There is an alarm system built in which uses RFID tags so that you can have an alert that shows when a person has fallen off the ship. It shows you where on the ship they went overboard with a red marker. The weather screen uses weather data for your location and GPS navigation which finds the nearest tide station for information. It maps out fishing scores and shows the phases of the moon. Finally, you can actually script functionality into the app so that it can control features of the boat.

There are screenshots of Intelisea over on Flickr.
