Adobe releases Flash Player 9 for the Intel Macs

Yesterday Adobe announced availability of Flash Player 9 for the Intel Macs. The main draw for Flash is its cross platform capabilities, and with a new player version lacking for both Linux and the new Intel Macs, that cross platform hadn't looked quite as solid as in days of old. But it's great to see the push to get it out, and now the team can focus on the Linux version.

According to a discussion held during events for Flash's 10th anniversary, they are expecting the penetration rate of this player to be faster than any previous version. They are estimating a 50% penetration rate by October, which is simply staggering. This release will undoubtedly help that get even higher. You can download the new version from Adobe's download center.
