Aircel launches enterprise cloud offerings in India

The telco has partnered NEC to provide software-as-a-service, which will include collaboration tools, CRM, ERP, HRMS, and videoconferencing.

Indian mobile network operator Aircel has announced its foray into the cloud space with its new offerings to tap local enterprises.

The telco has partnered NEC India, to power its cloud initiatives which it has called Business Unplugged, according to a report Thursday by Times of India.

They will initially start with a software applications portfolio, and then extend to other cloud offering at a later date. According to the report, the focus will be on enterprise grade offerings, such as collaboration, customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP),  human resource management system (HRMS), business suite, videoconferencing, etc.

The Indian cloud computing market was estimated to be worth between US$860 million to US$912 million in 2011.
