French online entertainment company Allociné has bought 75 per cent of rival firm CinéStore to create one of the largest cinema and film merchandising site in France. CinéStore currently specialises in film, TV and DVD news and sells 1,800 products. The company is also in partnership with over 300 retail stores including Fnac, Galleries Layfayette and over 650,000 customers. Jean-David Blanc, chairman of AlloCiné, claimed the deal would boost the company's own ecommerce ventures which went live last spring. CinéStore will continue to operate under its current branding.
