The unified traffic management feature of Alteon's products will enable China Mobile to maximize the performance
and availability of its Web servers and firewalls, and optimize user response times through the use of content-intelligent
SINGAPORE - Alteon WebSystems, Inc., announced today that China
Mobile has standardized on the company's Web
switches to provide wireless communications for China.
The creation of China's infrastructure - the National IP Backbone - is proceeding and will connect the country's
31 provincial capitals.
Alteon's Web switches will provide traffic management for e-mail services, radius services and wireless gateways
across the entire national infrastructure.
China Mobile will be able to provide services to end users, including more than 1.75 million IP users, 50 million
VoIP users, and 5 million WAP and VPDN users.
