Amazon's UK site has been refreshed with a brand new Kindle Store specific to the region, opening with over 400,000 books.

The online retail giant is already off to an ambitious start across the pond, boasting that Amazon UK offers "the biggest selection and lowest prices of any e-bookstore in the UK."

Book titles feature plenty of works old and new, ranging from Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita to Twilight. Customers can also access over 170 publications for subscription or just a single purchase. Some of the UK newspapers available on the site include The Financial Times, The Daily Mail and The Daily Telegraph, among others. And if newspapers aren't your thing, you can also subscribe to over 9,000 blogs.

The new Kindle, however, won't ship over there until the end of the month.
