Americans are impatient with global warming

We Americans are rightfully known the world over for being impatient. Why haven't we won the war, it's been six weeks already? Where's my burger, I've been standing here fifteen seconds? Fast food. Fast cars. Fast lanes. Fast forward. Fast tweets from fast thumbs. And now we're losing patience with global warming. It doesn't seem to do anything obvious so we are giving up on it.

A new poll shows that many fewer Americans now believe global warming is real. That's good news for the deniers and the corporate interests trying to obfuscate the science. A majority of Americans still believe global warming is happening but memories are short. It's been ages since that Al Gore movie, what was it called? And isn't Miami still above sea level? Besides, I'm more worried about my mortgage/401K/health insurance/Yankees.

Over half of all Republicans doubt global warming and that means it'll be nigh impossible to get a bi-partisan bill passed on energy and climate change in Congress. The action may all take place between the EPA and the lawyers who sue them when they act. This also means that greentech companies will move toward "saves you money" marketing and away from "saves the planet." Besides the damned planet can just take care of itself, right?
