An aerial view of the salty new Facebook HQ - 1 Hacker Way

Street cred for a mainstream Silicon Valley company comes cheap...

Facebook is about to move in to Sun Microsystems's former campus, whose address has changed from Network Drive to Hacker Way.

I took photos of the campus (above and below) on a recent trip aboard "The Farmers Airship" (Geeks On An Airship - Don't Call It A Blimp! - SVW).

Right next to the campus are massive ponds, gradually evaporating to produce salt for commercial uses.

The colors are caused by algae that thrive in the super-concentrated brine.

Some of the salt fields have been sculpted into Pac-Man shapes.
