An infallible way of remembering PIN numbers

Have you ever forgotten your PIN at the checkout with your shopping piled high in your trolley?

Well, this happened to me yesterday, and I wondered how the hell I could brand the number into my tiny brain.

I figured it out: translate the number into a year and remember an event from that year.

Using Random.org I picked a 4 digit number between 1000 and 9999.

6755

Then 6 becomes June, and the year becomes 1755.

A swift visit to The Year 1755 over at Wikipedia, and the only June event I can find is the birth of Nathan Hale, not so famous American Revolutionary War captain.

So to remember my number, Nathan Hale is born in June, 1755.
