App auto-translates Oracle programs to NCs

Database software kingpin Oracle this week showcased Web technology it claims will convert all existing Oracle-based applications to run on Network Computers including Sun's JavaStation, and Java-enabled browsers.At Oracle OpenWorld '96 in San Francisco, Oracle said its Developer/2000 software can convert the five million existing Oracle-based client-server applications to work on intranets and the Internet, without any hand coding.

At Oracle OpenWorld '96 in San Francisco, Oracle said its Developer/2000 software can convert the five million existing Oracle-based client-server applications to work on intranets and the Internet, without any hand coding.

The program will be available in the first quarter of 1997 and pricing is to be announced.
