AppDynamics, which makes application performance management tools, on Monday rolled out new analytics and collaborative features for its cloud services.
The company delivered the news at its inaugural Appsphere user conference in Las Vegas.
On the analytics front, the company released Application Analytics, which tracks real-time information technology and operations intelligence. Application Analytics captures business data from enterprise applications and puts it into a stream.
In many respects application performance monitoring and business intelligence are merging. After all, most businesses are becoming primarily based on software of some kind. The use cases for Application Analytics revolves around business intelligence, impact analysis, operations monitoring, performance tracking and service level agreement management.
For collaboration, AppDynamics released its fall 2014 version, which includes what the company calls a "virtual war room." The feature allows developers, operations managers and business users a space to collaborate when applications run amok. There's also an iOS app that can harvest reports. The goal of the war room is to bring together the key players to resolve issues quickly.
Other new features in the fall release include business flow tracking based on an enterprise's architecture and processes, a view into asynchronous transactions and better latency monitoring. In addition, AppDynamics now supports WebMethods, Tibco, Cassandra back ends, SQL Azure databases, browser apps and C/C++ applications.
