Apple needs to do more with Google
I have been playing with Google Documents and Spreadsheets a lot lately and they're both fantastic. Docs has replaced Backpack for me and has the potential to replace more than a few Wikis. Spreadsheets also looks great to.
If you haven't already checked them out, you owe it to yourself to. Search Engine Watch has posted an in-depth review of both. The only requirement for Docs and Spreadsheets is that you have a Google or Gmail account. (Gmail accounts are now available to anyone with a mobile phone.)
Steve Jobs should approach Eric Schmidt about a licensing deal that would allow Apple to co-brand Docs and Spreadsheets as the online word processor and spreadsheet in Mac.com. While they're at it the co-branded Mac.com versions should read and write Apple's Pages and upcoming spreadsheet application's file format.
In fact it would be great if Mac.com accounts could log into Google directly with full access to all of its various services, but anything would be a step in the right direction.
In what creative ways would you like to see Apple and Google collaborating?
