in brief Cash logistics provider Linfox Armaguard today revealed it was undertaking a server consolidation project that would see some 400 machines cut down to just two.

Linfox Armaguard was moving its IT infrastructure from branches to one data centre built by Hewlett-Packard, the vendor said in a statement issued this afternoon.

The move would see all of Linfox Armaguard's mission critical environment run by two HP Integrity rx8620 servers, HP said, adding the project was still some months away from completion.

In the statement, Linfox Armaguard chief information officer Jeremy Bates praised HP's hardware. Both companies could not comment at press time.
