The Acer Aspire Switch 10 resonated with customers when released due to its dual personality. A capable laptop, the detachable 10-inch display is ready for tablet use when the keyboard dock is left behind. The newly released Switch 10 Special Edition takes it further with the unusual feature of the Corning Glass covering.

Corning Glass is the break resistant glass that is commonly used on small smartphone screens. It can stand up to simple drops and bumps, keeping the display safe. The move to put it on a larger tablet screen is a move intended to make the Aspire Switch 10 Special Edition ready for use in work environments and for rough handling by students.

The Special Edition has a typical hardware configuration for a budget-friendly Windows 2-in-1 with a quad-core Atom processor, 2GB of memory, and 64GB of storage. The 10-inch IPS display has wide viewing angles behind that special glass.

Hardware specs of the Acer Aspire Switch 10 Special Edition:

  • CPU: Intel Atom Z3735F Quad-core 1.33 GHz
  • Display: 10-inch IPS (1280 x 800)
  • OS: Windows 10 Home
  • Memory/ storage: 2GB/ 64GB; microSD expansion
  • Connectivity: 802.11 a/b/g/n; Bluetooth 4.0
  • Battery: 5910mAh
  • Dimensions: 10.3 x 7 x 0.4 inches

The Switch 10 Special Edition will come with the tablet and laptop dock for $349.99 once available.
