Established in 2000, the IT services company was formed by the merger of French company Atos and Dutch company Origin. Headquartered in Paris, France, and Zaventem, Belgium, Atos Origin employs over 50,000 people in 40 countries.

Atos Origin's core business areas are in information technology, medical services and business consulting.

The IT services giant reported that third-quarter revenue grew by 5.3 percent year-on-year to 1.3 billion euros (US$1.68 billion), while revenue for the first nine months of the year grew by 6.3 percent to 4.1 billion euros (US$5.30 billion).

Atos Origin recently replaced its CEO Philippe Germond with former French finance minister Thierry Breton.
