SYDNEY (ZDNet Australia)-- In an attempt to keep an eye on the spending habits of the Bracks Government the Opposition party has launched a new Web site called “Wastewatch”, designed to expose possible rots.

“The development of wastewatch.com.au is an important step by the Victorian Opposition to keep Victorians informed of the Bracks Labor Government's handling of public funds,” Opposition leader Dr Napthine said.

The site www.wastewatch.com.au has been formulated in conjunction with the opposition parties Waste Watch Committee, set up to follow the spending of public funds by the state government.

Dr Napthine says the Web site will highlight the committee’s main task, which is to “expose the Bracks Government’s abuse of public office and its mismanagement of public funds”.

The Web site will host breaking news released by the Opposition Waste Watch Committee and press releases. It will also publish leaked documents and have facilities for supporting email for public feedback.

“The site will also be useful for journalists who will be able to access background and original source documents directly.”
