Austrian IT services market up 9.7% in 2004

The market for IT services expanded by 9.7% to $3.22 bln in 2004. Measured in euros, however, the market was flat at 0.3% growth, IDC says. IDC expects the Austrian IT services market to expand modestly, with revenue growing by 6.3% this year and 7.1% in 2006. Information system outsourcing was the single largest IT services area in Austria in 2004. It was also the fastest growing, rising by more than 27% in 2004. The second largest area was hardware support and installation, which was closely followed by systems integration. Software support and installation was the fourth largest. Together, these functional areas made up almost 59% of the market.
