BBC: Canada makes offer to MS

Microsoft offer includes a promise of favourable treatment and a possible loan to build new offices

Canadian government authorities in British Columbia have encouraged Microsoft to move there, the BBC reported.

The offer comes as the company awaits a penalty ruling in the antitrust suit brought against it by the US government.

The BBC said the offer included a promise of favourable treatment, including a possible loan to build new offices. Microsoft's current headquarters are about 100 miles south of the border.
