SINGAPORE--German-based Bertelsmann Marketing Service (BMS) and The Bird Group of India today announced a joint venture in which both companies will ally to offer IT marketing services.
The new firm--Bertelsmann Marketing Service India (BMSI) Pte Ltd--to be headquartered in India, will offer marketing services to European, North American and Asian clients.
These services include the collection and maintenance of data, operation of multilingual call and service centers, as well as the provision of online customer service and support. BMSI will target firms from the tourism, telecom, media, banking and insurance sectors as potential customers.
Commenting on the tie-up, chief operating officer of The Bird Group Ankur Bhatia said: "The Bird Group has been managing back office operations and CRM-related applications for the travel industry since 1992. This JV gives us the opportunity to expand our base to related market segments."
"The advantages we bring to the Bertelsmann-Bird partnership include our infrastructure and our in-depth understanding of local market conditions," he added.
