in brief Services giant CSC will continue to provide global application services to mining group BHP Billiton, in a two-year contract extension worth more than AU$100 million.

A statement issued today by CSC said the original agreement was due to expire in May, but had now been extended until 31 May, 2009.

CSC said the agreement meant it would continue to deploy and support BHP's global enterprise resource planning and content management systems, in addition to legacy systems.

BHP declined to comment on the deal, referring enquiries to CSC.
