BigCommerce released a new set of Facebook integrations aimed at making it easier for merchants to sell and advertise on the social network.

The e-commerce SaaS provider says merchants using Shop sections on their Facebook Pages can now offer a checkout option directly on Facebook. The integration makes BigCommerce one of only two platforms to offer this type of native payment functionality.

BigCommerce has also linked its platform with Facebook Pixel, which gives retailers the ability to advertise and sell products on Facebook via dynamic ads. With new automated Pixel installation, BigCommerce says merchants can sync their product catalog and use Facebook's advanced advertising products to drive sales, without the need to manually enter or edit any code.

"Social connections and online shopping are two of the most fundamental use cases for the internet," said Jimmy Duvall, chief product officer for BigCommerce. "Through our work with Facebook, we're helping our merchants both increase sales from Facebook advertising and reduce the time required to launch and optimize targeted campaigns."

Like other e-commerce platform providers, BigCommerce sees itself as a leader in omnichannel capabilities. The company has ties to all the key social platforms such as Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook, and on the backend its platform can be linked to Square, Intuit, and other accounting and mobile payment services.

Over the last year or so, BigCommerce has also inked integration deals with the eBay and Amazon marketplaces.
