SIG cites the shining feature of Bluetooth 4.0 to be its "low energy technology," meaning it will use up less energy and reduce costs. Apparently the new version will be so revolutionary that it will "enable a plethora of new applications – some not even possible or imagined today."
That's quite the promise, and we should be able to start seeing if that is indeed the case when Bluetooth 4.0 technology starts to be integrated into products by Q4 of 2010. But didn't Bluetooth 3.0 just start to become popular? Who needs it now, right?
