in brief Monash University has chosen a BMC Software platform to support a shared services initiative.

Monash will be using BMC's Business Service Management platform to consolidate service management from the varied environments it had previously been using.

The university will use the platform to monitor and manage services for more than 50,000 students across six Victorian campuses, BMC said.

Once completed, BMC said Monash expected the consolidated platform to create cost savings, improve efficiencies and accelerate IT response times.

"Implementing an IT service management system and university-wide business processes will enable the university to reduce risk and improve efficiencies in the smooth delivery of IT services," Monash University ICT shared services program director Chris Bridge said.
