Brazilian IT outsourcer BRQ launches Chile operations

The company wants to cater for other Brazilian companies that are increasing their presence in the region

Brazilian IT outsourcer BRQ has launched a new office in Chile as part of a strategy to expand its foothold in Latin America.

The company will seek business with other Brazilian corporates that are also expanding their presence in the region. This follows an internationalization strategy that started in 2008 with the launch of an office in New York.

According to BRQ's president Benjamin Quadros, the idea is to "serve a select group of sector leaders" and that the company is already working for a client in the country.

The outsourcer is also in talks with three other existing clients about possibly working for them in Chile.

Along wit Stefanini IT Solutions and CI&T, BRQ is one of the most successful Brazilian IT outsourcing firms. It has about 3,500 staff in eight Brazilian capitals in addition to its two offices in the United States and Chile.

According to data from the report's Networked Readiness Index (NRI), which measures 143 economies in terms of their growth in ICT infrastructure, Chile ranks 38th globally but is the leader in Latin America when it comes to its ability to exploit ICT to drive social and economic transformation.
