silicon.com readers resort to phone to register their disgust...

BT email services have been severely disrupted today after a fault resulted in complete loss of connection for several thousand customers. A spokesman for BTopenworld said: "We have had an email problem today that affected around 3,000 customers. There was a fault and we responded by upgrading the service. It has now been resolved." However, a BT customer called silicon.com and complained that he had received intermittent service since Monday and was still not able to send email. Another silicon reader complained that he was unable to contact the helpdesk despite waiting on hold for up to 90 minutes. Another BT customer told us he has been unable to use his email yesterday afternoon and today was unable to send mail in reply to his busy inbox.
