BT launches email-via-pager service

BT gets into the email pager game.
Written by Will Knight, Contributor

BT launched a pager service that receives email messages on Wednesday, placating the growing hordes of email addicts.

BT has followed the lead of pager specialist PageOne which launched a similar service in May called Mini-Mail.

BT's "Email Forwarding Service" lets users filter messages by sender and subject, hopefully eliminating spam. BT says it is also considering a method for sending messages from a pager.

The new service is available to those who upgrade to BT's new Message 2000 pager from Motorola. 150 email messages in one month will cost you £19.95, or you can pay £22.95 for up to 250 messages.
