By year-end 2005 8-10% of instant messages to be unsolicited

The amount of instant messaging spam went from being almost zero in 2003 to being just under 5% of all instant messages sent in 2004, according to IMLogic. The company estimates that number will be closer to 8-10% by the end of 2005.

The amount of instant messaging spam went from being almost zero in 2003 to being just under 5% of all instant messages sent in 2004, according to IMLogic. The company estimates that number will be closer to 8-10% by the end of 2005. About 400 mln people use some kind of instant messaging service today, sending between 5-6 bln instant messages a day.
