Linux firm Caldera Systems has replaced its high-profile CEO Ransom Love with wild-card Darl McBride. McBride has been president of online planning for training and development firm FranklinCovey, and before that was CEO of PointServe, a productivity software company. In a written statement, Caldera pointed to McBride's success in raising $100m in venture capital while at these companies as a key reason for his appointment. Love will stay at Caldera to head up the company's United Linux operations. United Linux is a recently formed venture between Connectiva, SuSE, TurboLinux and Caldera. Caldera has also bought out the shares of minority shareholders MTI and Tarantella technology corporation.
