Speaking at an Economist conference in Berkeley, Calif., U.S. chief technical officer Aneesh Chopra repeated president Barack Obama’s remarks that the United States needs to “out-innovate” countries such as India and China to remain competitive on the global stage.
According to research, America is falling behind in innovation and research and development, according to Chopra.
The answer? Americans should focus on inventing new products and technologies for export, Chopra says -- or else it risks importing another country's ideas.
