Capgemini and VMware have announced a strategic partnership to deliver an enterprise-based mobility management service powered by the AirWatch platform.
Announced on Tuesday, virtualization and cloud services firm VMware said the partnership will combine the firm's Airwatch platform with Capgemini's mobility consulting, app development and system integration solutions to provide for businesses in the enterprise mobility and end-user computing fields.
The partnership is an extension of the existing global strategic agreement between Capgemini and VMware. The two companies plan to bundle AirWatch EMM software with Capgemini Mobile Solutions services to enterprise firms for either a monthly fee or multi-year contracts.
Initially, the business model will be based on off-premise hosted options or on-premise cloud models for global companies across North America, EMEA, Latin America and APAC.
AirWatch,this year, is VMware's enterprise mobility management platform which is used by over 13,000 customers worldwide. The platform includes mobile device, email, application, content, and browser management features, all of which will be available within the companies' new solutions. While VMware provides AirWatch, Capgemini will provide the enterprise with AirWatch system administration, helpdesk support, mobile platform implementation, mobile application administration and deployment.
