Child accuses parents of selling him on the Net

Boy: only £250 (or swap for new shoes)

A 14-year-old boy from Virginia has sensationally accused his own parents of selling him on the Internet in August for just $400 (£250).

The youth reportedly told investigating authorities that a number of his siblings had also been exchanged over the Net for, among other things, a swing set and a new pair of shoes.

The 38-year-old man accused of purchasing the boy claims that he simply adopted him after posting an advert on Yahoo! and that no money was exchanged whatsoever.

This comes just days after Derbyshire's social services department posted pictures of local children available for adoption.
