The latest white paper in a series of technical briefs from the Climate Savers Computing Initiative has been posted to the organization's Web site.
The "Energy Efficiency Guide for Networking Devices," was developed by vendors including Broadcom, Cisco, Intel and Juniper Networks. The intention of the guide is to help IT managers assess and evaluate various technologies and network gear for their energy efficiency metrics, and it offers a number of best practices for doing so.
In conjunction with the publication, Climate Savers is accepting applications from vendors interested in having their products considered for listing a product catalog of energy-efficient computing technologies. Submissions from networking vendors will be accepted starting in the first quarter of 2012.
