Making up for not having a new desktop or server version of Windows to hype, Microsoft on Monday morning officially launched Exchange Server 5.5, the latest implementation of its messaging and groupware flagship.

Key new features of the product include clustering support, tighter Internet integration through IMAP 4 and LDAP 3 support, an Unlimited Message Store, chat and the Event Scripting Agent.

The firm said five million seats of Exchange have been deployed in the last year.
