Selling quicker than some very hot cakes...

Compaq has sold two million iPaqs since it launched the handheld computer two years ago. Celebrating the milestone today, the company said that iPaq sales were continuing to grow, with 2001 levels up 330 per cent on the previous year's figures. The second million were sold in the last 10 months. The company has not commented on the future of iPaq following the HP merger, but analysts widely believe that the Compaq computer will out-live HP's Jornada. Compaq now holds a 10 per cent share of the handheld market, but Palm and Handspring continue to hold on to the number one and two spots. In the last quarter. iPaq sales generated $160m for Compaq, while Palm 's sales were $300m. Is the end near for Jornada?
