CompuServe offers Web site on browser wars
CompuServe has re-entered the browser wars... but this time only as an impartial observer.
The online service has set up a free access Web site - BrowserWars.com dedicated to the Microsoft-Netscape battle. The site includes news, comment, FAQs, a knowledge base called Browser Base, support forums, tips, a download site and even a radio programme.
"BrowserWars.com gives consumers the help and information they need to make an informed decision about choosing a browser," said Mike Blackwell, computing services manager at CompuServe. "The site helps ensure that consumers won't become casualties of the browser wars."
The site will go up against some entrenched opposition, notably from US-based site BrowserWatch.
